This is an Ihagee Exa film camera.
The Exakta mount has many lenses released for it.

■ Description of Test Shots
The combination is a trioplan 50mm lens and KODAK GOLD 200 film. The blue is emphasized, as is typical of KODAK, but it captures a nostalgic English garden at a time when the sun was beginning to set. The film winding is done with a dial on the top, not a lever, and it seems that if you don't wind it completely before shooting, you may end up with an exposure in the middle of the roll.
Also, a feature of the Exakta is the shutter release button on the entire left side. It is designed to work in conjunction with the lens aperture, which is also an interesting feature.
It seems different from modern cameras, but I think the ease of use of the single-lens reflex camera, which would dominate the next half-century, was already appreciated at the time.

■ Condition
Considering its age, I think it maintains a beautiful appearance. There are some scratches from use, but it is in good condition. Test shots have been taken using actual film. A spool and waist-level finder are included.

■ Introduction to this camera
Released in 1951. There are various theories, but the "kine-exakta" from Ihagee, which produced the world's first 35mm single-lens reflex camera, was released as a popular version of this Exa. The viewfinder is interchangeable! Furthermore, the structure is such that the mirror of the single-lens reflex camera itself corresponds to the shutter curtain, and of course, the shutter speed cannot be increased, and it is only 1/150 at the fastest! It's a specification that makes you feel the times.

However, you can shoot with film that is commonly sold at your local camera store. Since it is a single-lens reflex camera, the image is reversed left and right, but you can focus precisely. Including the jewelry-like design, it conveys how luxurious cameras were at the time, even the inexpensive, popular ones.
